TroubleShooting Checklist

1. Clarify with the partner what is the current behavior of the specific element and what is the expected behavior

2. Clarify with the partner if the issue occurs on the live site or Studio Editor preview?

3. Can you as an expert recreate the issue?

4. If the issue appears on the live site, but not on the Studio Editor preview, check whether user's custom code affects the site (we've noticed that about 10% of all Missing Troubleshooting Escalations were related to it)

5. Make sure that the viewport width on the live site and in Studio Editor preview are the same (open whatismyviewport.com and check the viewport width. Then, apply the same width in Studio Preview)

6. Sometimes the issue can be caused by a Velo code added by the user. Note that Velo code might also affect Studio Preview. To disable Velo on the live site, add ?wixCodeDisableUserCode=true to the page's URL. If the issue recreates with this extension, Velo code is not the problem then

Tip: In some cases (especially when you cannot tell expected behavior from a glitch), try recreating the same setup on a test site in your Wix account.

After the above-mentioned steps, it's time to bring your deep knowledge to further troubleshoot an issue. Each case is quite unique, but we've gathered here the most common scenarios that led to unnecessary escalations. We are glad to share them with you! ❤️
